Don't wanna make this thread into a day event. RE: The music I grew up on. - Doyoy - 01-08-2014 09:23 AM nice, some of them are good RE: The music I grew up on. - Satiben - 01-08-2014 09:32 AM Damn only one I've listened to is Bombshell and it's badass as fuck RE: The music I grew up on. - Zev Love X - 01-08-2014 10:03 AM Every person says new music isn't as good as music in the past, it certainly isn't the same. But i'll tell you, there's tons of good music out there being made. RE: The music I grew up on. - deathx6 - 01-08-2014 11:44 AM I just cant evolve with most of the music that's come out. Don't get me wrong some of the new age music is pretty decent. On the other hand 90% of it is crap in my opinion. It's like dubstep, some of it is great, on the other hand, a lot of it it shit. Music was music back in the day. Its become too much to keep up when a lot of crap ass music is being released. Eventually i just gave up on new music. Seems like bands gave up on rhythm, and what makes a good song is rhythm with the combination of good lyrics. Making a song flow with good riffs and a dumb pattern to emphasize the riffs with the combination of good lyrics, that's art. Seems like Rock period (even metal) went from tough, to whiny ass bull. Example, Disturbed vs. black veil brides. (I DONT LIKE BLACK VEIL BRIDES!) Personally I don't like some of the pop bands like BVB, and the Trap music being put out in the hip-hop game. I appreciate the song for how it's put together, lyrics, and such. I'm sure you do too. But remember those bands are for more casual music listeners, they just care if the song releases the happy juice in their brains. If you dig enough you'll find good music for whatever genres you listen to. Personally it took me time to get into hip-hop, because of the meaningless crap they put out that I heard on the radio. Finally though, I dug through most of the crap and found tons of underground artists that I enjoy everyday now. Don't give up on music. RE: The music I grew up on. - deathx6 - 01-08-2014 03:47 PM Alright ill use my favorite band since 2005. Bullet for My Valentine is one of my favorite all time bands. Old bullet (Hand of blood ep, The Poison) vs New Bullet (Temper temper) Absolutely shit change in direction. Well i can see the hip-hop genre as well cause all it was until a couple of year ago was about doing drugs, killing people, & gangsta shit. I know i use to give a listen to rap as well. Now that we got people like Hopsin, Jarren Benton, Mac, that all i can think of off the top of my head, people have a new direction to go off of, and since they had gotten big, everyone wants a piece of the pie that hopsin started baking in like the late mid 2000's. He just started getting known like 2-3 years ago. I was on his album was in 09'. He literally started this movement of the new hiphop thats been coming out lately and no one else can take credit for that but him cause he did do it. It's not that i've given up on music cause i always look for decent stuff to listen to, but its either shit or not new so i cant really call it new. Although I agree Hopsin and them have been trying to push the 'Real Hip-Hop' movement, there's many others who were doing 'Concious' hip-hop like Deltron 3030, Blu, Jay electronica, Nas, DOOM, etc all have very introspective and intelligent music. They've been doing it for years. So I don't think you can say he started it. RE: The music I grew up on. - Doyoy - 01-09-2014 05:21 AM Micah! You're back RE: The music I grew up on. - deathx6 - 01-09-2014 07:13 AM starting a movement doesnt mean he made the genera. He started his movement cause he wanted to save hip-hop. So he literally did start the movement no one can take credit on. As quote from Ill mind of hopsin 3 "Fuck your fast car, Your cheap singing you keep saying the same shit, while t-paining and we banging, simply because its all we hear, man look at all these queers. The shit is so watered down i developed soggy ears" |
