poll about luring\scamming

hey just wondering how many think the rules about luring and
/or scamming should be allowed?

I personally believe both are a part of runescape, and should not be made rules.

my votes go to luring should allowed, not scamming, as I think scamming is just plain wrong. luring really, works on the basis of you being silly enough to think shit (to good to be true) or being tricked into skulled etc. luring is 100% the person whos getting lured's fault.

opinions? feel free to pm me if you have any strong dissagreements\anything you wish to talk about.

Luring is not necessarily entirely the player's fault, and if it is, who cares? One person got money and another person lost money, same rules as the Duel Arena. Never enter the Wilderness unless you are looking to fight or RuneCraft. Most luring occurs in this possible situation, more cruelly on the person lured: The person convinces a player into the wild with an inventory full of cash. Then they get frozen and tele-blocked. The person dies and the lurers pick up the loot, all the while showing no mercy, no remorse, laughing with their friends at the person they just lured, "L", "l0l0l0l0l0l", and "rofl"ing at the lured's foul remarks, and complaining only about how their Ahrim's Robes have degraded just a fraction, even though they just lured tons more than what they would have to exchange to have the robes repaired. It sickens me, it's like someone in real life killing someone else and laughing and spitting with the police on their grave. And the only tears shed are of laughter. Only of laughter. But no need to concern such fragile humans. It is only in my mind if you want to keep yourself from losing all sanity.

getting scammed is players fault.
there is no way someone could scam without the player helping him/her in some way.
same goes for luring.
both should be allowed.
your own fault.

I think the idea JaGeX had in mind when they created the wilderness was for it to be a lawless area where anything is allowed. Now if we had such a thing in real life, what do you think people would do? The exact same thing right? Your analysis is exactly correct.

^This right here. Players only get scammed and lured because they're stupid enough to fall for it. I don't agree that either should be allowed since it generally makes more people ragequit the game than stay with it, but Doyoy is right in the sense that this shit only happens because people let it happen to them. I know that even with a rule against luring/scamming it will still be done, but not as frequently.

No one is going to rage quit unless your retarded enough to bring your whole bank into the wild. How do you even get lured into the wild with everything you have anyways? If someone gets lured for like a quarter of their bank then they won't rage quit. How stupid can you be to walk into wilderness with someone hung you do not want to lose

The only reason I posted what I did before is because people ARE stupid enough to do such things. I've seen it happen numerous times on Rs-Remake with that Annakarl teleport. =/

I will point out that we are in a quite paradoxical situation. Luring and scamming both have one thing in common. Ignorance.

They are both abusing a players ignorance about something to gain money. We are a private server that is replicating real runescape. Anyone or at least the vast majority of players even looking at our server will have either been runescape veterans or have played runescape in the past.

Therefore it would be a quite miniscule amount of people effected by this.

i feel people should know not to get lured but scamming is another thing, for example on runescape's old school server i remember getting scammed when i was buying dbones and they put up dbones but last second switched them to bbones just carless mistake but when you cross into the wilderness there is a warning sign so people should be prepared.
