Narcolepsy is a condition in which the brain no longer controls the ability to fall asleep or stay awake. People with this condition often fall asleep during the day and experience other symptoms. Although serious and disruptive, this condition generally responds well to treatment. With care and caution, it is possible to manage it and adapt to its effects. narcolepsy is a sleep disorder that causes a sudden, almost irresistible urge to fall asleep during the day. Although rare, this condition is widely known for its symptoms and course. Narcolepsy is usually treatable, but it can still severely impact life, work ability, and social relationships. Mild cataplexy may affect only the face and neck or one side of the body. Severe cataplexy can cause a person to collapse to the floor, which can lead to injury. These events usually last a few minutes or less, but you may not be able to move or speak during this time.
