camstudio is horrible, they have same graphics, but i have some problems with camstudio lol. such as sometimes it can't read what i recorded, or it wont save it and whatnot.

I've never had problems with camtasia and with hypercam the recording quality was shit for some reason |

Sati, CamStudio and Camtasia are two entirely different pieces of software. CamStudio is an open-source software that is free to use. Camtasia on the other hand is one of the most expensive screen-recording softwares, developed by TechSmith. Camtasia is considered "high-end", at least...'higher-end' than say Hypercam or CamStudio. Yes, that's the encoder that Maarten is talking about. With the right encoder, CamStudio could very well be better than Camtasia or Fraps. It's open-source as well, another added bonus
