Extensive anti spam measures

As time went by, more and more spambots had found their way to this forum.

I happy to say that I was able to take extensive measures to tackle this problem.
I added 5 anti-spam plugins to this forum. Accounts will be tested against a spam database upon creation by IP, username and email adress. Moreover, every post made will be tested against multiple anti spam databases. If spammers are still able to get through, deleting them will only be a matter of seconds now.

Because of these measures you will all be able to use clean forums again.

New Server hardware

Hello there,

The past few months I had been getting quite a lot of forum messages about the disocnnection issues. This was due to the ddos filter. I upgraded and the game is now running from a better dedicated server.

Hello everyone,
The server just got updated and now runs of off a Solid State Drive.
Solid State Drives are a lot faster than normal hard disks
This means loading and saving should be a lot faster.
Also the website, the game and all databases in general will be a lot smoother. This should also fix all lag issues that we were having before.

Watch out for Hackers!

Dear players,

At Rune2006 we have always tried to keep all of your personal information and passwords confidential. Unfortunantly a lot of other RSPSes do not strive for the same goal. It has come to my attention that there may have been some hackings on our game because some of our players play other RSPSes and use the same password. I highly suggest you choose a unique password for Rune2006, that you don't use for anything else. Not because I doubt our own security, but because I doubt the security and integrity of others servers and especially server owners. Most importantly, don't use the same password for anything that has to do with financial transactions or the like. Or other things you hold closely to your heart. I think for most people this is probably common sense. But there have already been incidents with hackings on this server because players used the same password on RSPSes, remakes etc.

So remember to stay safe, and get a good password!

Welcome to Rune2006

1. Registration
To be able to play, you need to register an account on our forum.
Click here to start the registration process.

2. Playing
Once you registered your account you can use it to login to the game.
There are two options: Either you play in your browser, or you use our download client.

2.1 Desktop Client
NOTE: Desktop Client is the preferred way to play!
Click here to download!

To play, just double click on the downloaded Client.Jar and the game will start up.

3. Forums
To be able to participate on the forums and make posts, please activate your account.

4. Problems logging in?
Make sure the password you entered is 100% correct.
If the client applet gets blocked that is most likely because your Java is outdated, or your java security settings do not allow self-signed apps to run in the browser.
Please follow this tutorial first if you have issues.
For any issues I suggest you send me (Plural) a private message on the forum so that I can help you resolve the issue.
