Games are a whole different matter to tackle. If you are truly interested in coding you're gonna want to focus on the basics first for a solid bit.
As for VB being a good platform for video game development, I'd recommend against it. Continue your VB learning because it will teach you the fundamentals of programming pretty well. It lets you create simple GUI (graphical user interface) applications. Back in 2005-2006 when I took my VB course, my midterm was to make a rock-paper-scissors program. I enhanced it with some image swapping and made it look like there was a rolling animation for the computer's choice. It was pretty fun so you CAN make some basic games but nothing graphically intensive ... unless if you find & import some sort of graphics library .... but I ramble! If you plan to make simple games to learn, make board games like checkers, chess, connect 4. |
